Junior Seth Helgert hit a walkoff two-run double in the bottom of the seventh to lift Highlands over Knoch, 3-2, to sweep the regular season series.

Seniors DJ Loveland and Tyrus Kerr started the inning with back-to-back singles. Those two also were involved in the Golden Rams first run. In the second inning, Loveland singled and came around to score on Kerr’s double.

Junior Jett Slepak hit a double, Senior Trent Bielak hit got hits and junior Ethan Hewitt hit a single and double.

Slepak started the game and went six innings, allowing two runs and striking out seven. He also walked two and hit one batter.

For the second time in as many days, sophomore Jimmy Kunst came in relief, picking up the win this time. He pitched a scoreless seventh inning, striking out two.

Highlands will return to the diamond on Monday when they travel to Indiana for a section game at 4 p.m.
